I’m Ayana, a Vtuber!
Today, I will explain how to use Adjustment Layer!
Like in other design softwares, in After Effects, you can apply effects to multiple layers at the same time by using Adjustment Layer.
First, prepare multiple layers in the Timeline panel like this way.
Create Adjustment Layer
From Layer tab in the menu bar, select 「New」 -> select 「Adjustment Layer」.
We can also use the shortcut key for Adjustment Layer ” Ctrl+Alt+Y” to create the new adjustment layer.
Once the Adjustment Layer is created, place it at the top of the layers to which you want to apply the effect. When you apply an effect to the Adjustment Layer, the effect is applied to all layers below it.
Apply effects to the Adjustment Layer
Select the Adjustment Layer and then apply the effect from the Effects & Presets panel to it.
Here I will choose「Leave color」.
When you check the Effect Controls panel, you can see that Leave color property has been added to the Adjustment Layer.
If you check the composition panel, all layers below the Adjustment Layer will be applied the Leave color effect like this.
Create Mask for Adjustment Layer
If you create a mask using the Shape Tool while selecting the Adjustment Layer, the effects applied to the Adjustment Layer can be applied to only the mask part instead of the whole layer.
Here I will create a mask using the polygon tool, so Leave color effect can be reflected in this way.
This is the end of the lecture on how to use Adjustment Layer!
How is everyone doing?
