I’m Ayana, a Vtuber!
Today, I will explain how to import Photoshop files into After Effects.
In After Effects, you can import files created in Photoshop as a layer or a composition – we’ll explain these two options in order!
Import Photoshop file as a layer
From File -> Import , select File
①Select the Photoshop file you want to import from the dialog box.
A dialog box like this appears that lets you set the importing type and how to import layers.
①Click Choose Layer
②Select the layer you want to import
If a layer style is applied to the selected layer, select [Merge Layer Styles into Footage]
The selected layers have been imported into the project panel.
Import Merged Layer
Next, let’s import a Photoshop file with merged layers.
In the same way, let’s select the Photoshop files that we want to import from Files.
①Select “Merged Layer”
The photoshop files have been imported into the project panel.
Import Photoshop file as a composition
Next, let’s import a Photoshop file as a composition.
In the same way, choose the Photoshop files you want to import from Files.
①In Import Kind, choose Composition -Retain Layer Sizes
The photoshop files have now been imported as a composition!
This concludes my explanation of how to import Photoshop files into After Effects!
