Hello everyone!

I’m Ayana, a Vtuber!

Today, I will explain how to apply transitions

Let’s begin!

Let’s start!

“Transition” is a “switching effect” that is applied to the joints, tips, and ends of clips.

Since the transition is a part of the effect, it is basically the same as using the effect.

Applying transitions

Prepare two clips

First, prepare two clips.

Trim clip

Clips with transitions need margins for compositing, so be sure to trim them! Please note that there will be a warning if there is not enough space for compositing.

Clips that have not been trimmed have white triangles in the corners.

After trimming, the white triangle disappeared

Place transitions between these trimmed clips.

Select a transition effect

This time, we will use a transition called “Cross dissolve” which is often used in transitions.

Find “Cross Dissolve” in the Effects panel.

Apply a transition

You can add a transition between clips by dragging and dropping the effect.

Transition has been applied

I tried zooming in on the clips in the timeline. It will look like this when the transition is applied.

This is cross dissolve

The transition has been applied like this!

Replace and delete transitions

Transition replacement

By dragging and dropping another transition to an already applied transition, you can replace it with another transition with the same duration.

Also, select a transition and press the “Delete key” to delete the transition.

This concludes our discussion of applying transitions.
